in case 와 if 의 차이

in case는 발생할 수도 있는 일에 대비하여 현재에 실제로 일을 진행할 때 사용하고, if는 발생하면 진행하고 발생않하면 진행을 하지 안는다는 점에 차이가 있습니다. 다음의 예문으로 그 차이가 알 수 있습니다.

We'll buy some more food in case Ryan comes. ( = Perhaps Ryan will come; we'll buy some more food now, whether he comes or not; then we'll have the food if he comes. )

We'll buy some more food if Ryan comes. ( = Perhaps Ryan will come; if he comes, we'll buy some more food; if he doesn't come, we won't buy any more food. )

그러므로, 이러한 경우에는 in case 뒤에 현재 시제를 사용합니다.
